The Special Libraries Association is a global association of information resource professionals who collect, analyze, evaluate, package, and disseminate information to facilitate accurate decision-making in corporate, academic, and government settings.
SLA promotes and strengthens its members through learning, advocacy, and networking initiatives. The organization has a staff of 28, 11,500 members and an annual budget of $7.1 million.
In 2005, at the recommendation of SLA's new accounting firm, the association began using Anybill AP services, enabling the group to eliminate its open full-time AP/AR position. In addition to creating a more efficient and lower cost Accounts Payable process, Anybill has been very effective in serving the needs of the association's special payment constituencies: its 100 chapters and volunteer leaders who incur SLA-related travel expenses. Access to Anybill's transaction information and approval process has been applied to each SLA staff member. This has dramatically improved the staff ‘s understanding of their place in the AP process and has reduced overall reliance on the accounting department to answer AP-related questions.
"Anybill fosters speed and independence in the AP process. The system's 24/7 accessibility anywhere makes paying bills as efficient for our remote and traveling employees as it is for those in the office. And, the online nature of Anybill's system also means a dramatic reduction in paper—that goes a long way to supporting SLA's 'Green Commitment.'"
