Anybill CEO and Co-founder Serves as the Chair of the DC Heart Ball

We are proud to announce that our CEO and Co-founder, Matt Voorhees, is the Chairman of the DC Heart Ball for a second year in a row.  The DC Heart Ball is an annual black-tie gala which celebrates the support of the American Heart Association’s research and programs to help prevent heart disease as well as help survivors thrive.

Last year's event was a huge success where they raised $1,190,000 for critical research, education, and heart health support advocacy.  This year, their goal is to raise $1.5 million and the event's theme is the Lunar New Year.  According to the Asian tradition, the Lunar New Year brings longevity, happiness and good fortune.

Presidents’ Day: It’s more than just bargains and a day off work

Anybill will be closed on Monday, February 18, 2013 in honor of Presidents’ Day.

Presidents’ Day is not only about a three day weekend or getting the best shopping deals. There’s a lot more meaning to this holiday that is often overlooked. What is the real purpose of Presidents’ Day? It was originally created to celebrate George Washington’s birthday and was later changed to include Lincoln’s birthday. Today, many Americans view it as a day to honor all of the U.S. presidents, particularly Washington and Lincoln.

Greater Washington Region 2013 Heart Ball 15th Anniversary - February 23, 2013

“It’s important that we give back in this city that advocates so much but doesn’t always do so locally.  It’s especially important in DC because so much of the dollars that we raise actually come back to the metro area; whether it is through studies in NIH or community outreach programs.” --Matt Voorhees, CEO of Anybill and 2013 DC Heart Ball Chairman
